Reflectionism is an emerging art movement that transforms classical oil painting into a three-dimensional human experience. Rooted in the Reflectionist Principle, the belief that the energy and intention we put into the world are ultimately reflected back to us, Reflectionist artists enter the creative process with the conscious intention of expressing constructive human energy through love, joy, gratitude, and beauty. Through the physical act of painting, that energy and intention become embedded in the artwork itself. Layers of sculpted oil continually change with light, perspective, and the movement of the viewer, making a Reflectionist painting impossible to fully experience through a phone, computer, or reproduced image. In an increasingly digital world, Reflectionism is a return to something fundamentally human: art created by human hands, infused with human intention and energy, and fully experienced only through the physical presence of a human being standing before the actual work.
